Watercolour Card Tutorial

Hello friends,

Being a design team member in Catchy Challenges, it's my turn to post a tutorial today on Watercolours. Tutorial - me - it's time consuming.

Bribed myself with some craft goodies for making it :)

Here is my card

Here is the watercolour card making tutorial

Water  - The transparent liquid when gels with colour, it creates wonder.

Here are the materials required:
1. Cardstock
2. Normal Paint Brush
3. Camilin Watercolour cakes
4. Embellishments to decorate
5. Water sprayer

Steps to follow:
1. Take the cardstock and spray the water over it and don’t overdo just saturate the paper with water.

2. Mount the colour on the brush and just give one to two strokes, the colour will diffuse on the paper.

3. Since I will be using this a background, I have used different colours.

4. Then sprinkle the colours(mount the colours on the brush) on a plastic sheet and press the stamped image over the sprinkled colours; you will get a background like this.

5. I have attached the stamped image to the coloured background and mounted on white cardstock.
6. Embellish the card as you wanted, i have embellished it with pearls, quilled flower, laces and punched leaves.
7. Your watercolour card is ready

Hope I have shared an easy tutorial. You have still got time to join the fun in Catchy Challenges on Watercolours

Indian Quilling Challenge

Hello friends,

Since we will be celebrating Teacher's day on 5th Septemeber, Theme for our Indian quilling Challenge /quilling contest is Anything goes with School theme( teachers day, school elements - pencil, book, etc.)

Hence planned to make a School Parade to give an idea about the theme.

When thinking of Parade – The Grand parade event comes to my mind.

On every Republic day - a grand parade is held in New Delhi. The event starts with India's prime minister laying a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, to remember soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country. India's president takes the military salute during the parade in New Delhi while state governors take the military salutes in state capitals. The parade showcases India's Defense Capability, Cultural and Social Heritage. Each display brings out the diversity and richness of the culture of India and the whole show lends a festive air to the occasion. Awards and medals of bravery are given to the people from the armed forces and also to civilians. Helicopters from the armed forces then fly past the parade area showering rose petals on the audience. School children also participate in the parade by dancing and singing patriotic songs. Armed Forces personnel also showcase motorcycle rides. The parade concludes with a "fly past" by the Indian Air Force, which involves fighter planes of flying past the dais, symbolically saluting the president. These leave trails of smoke in the colors of the Indian flag.

My daughter is in preschool now, and she used to bug me daily to make a gift for her teacher. Hence, i have decided to make a parade arrangement with amateur quilling.(I have a big box in my stash with all the quilled shapes and small 3d quilled miniatures which I have done eight years back during the learning process of this beautiful art)

For this Paper parade arrangement, i have made a tray and fixed four wheels to it. then decorated the top with paper banners, quilled blackboard, quilled fruit, quilled bear, quilled cat, slide is also there with a quilled boy sliding, quilled pond with duckling, quilled school bus, quilled roses on sides, quilled sand play area and a small little quilled girl thanking her teacher.

My daughter really loved it and here it is

Hope you too liked it.
